What Is A World View?

A set of beliefs used to form opinions about life, duties, responsibilities, truth, family, etc.

What Should The Christian’s World View Be?

A Christian should view all that is in and of this life in the light of the Holy Bible.

Beliefs that have helped me to shape my worldview:

God has a goal. His goal has not changed (Ephesians 1:4, Genesis 12:3c, Galatians 3:16, Job 19:25-27). Because of God’s gift to mankind— his freewill— God’s means of attaining His goal  have of necessity changed (Genesis 6:5-7). His goal of bringing many of  us into glory—into His family— has not changed (Hebrews 2:10, Ephesians 1:5).

Before the creation He knew that He would fulfill His purpose through much suffering on His part (Hebrews 2:9, 9:26). The cross was His plan; His means of redeeming mankind (1 Corinthians 15:3, Acts 3:18, Isaiah 55, Psalms 22). He has always been in control (Matthew 26:53-54).

He causes all things to work for the good of His people—the church (Romans 8:28). Even when persecution and suffering come to His church, He causes it to accomplish His purpose—good for His church (Acts 8:1-4).

Even now there is a peace and a rest for the people of God (Hebrews 4:9-11, John 14:27). But lasting peace on earth will not be brought about by government, but only when Christ returns and establishes His kingdom on earth will there be peace (Revelation 19:11-20:3). Tribulations and persecutions— because of their faith— are a part of every Christian’s life (John 16:33, 2 Timothy 3:12).

Comparatively speaking, God’s people are few in number. They are as a remnant (Matthew 7:14).

Christians should influence this world for God (Matthew 5:13-16). They should use their station in life, their processions, their abilities, and their talents to bring the truth of God’s plan to the world(1 Corinthians 7:21-23).

God equips each Christian with special gifts and callings to further His purpose in the world (1 Corinthians 12:4-14).

Christians are to stand out as different, because of their obedience to God (2 Corinthians 6:14-18).

Although Christians should find their close fellowship with other saints (1 Corinthians 5:9-11), they must be careful to not shun the lost—especially the ones who are seeking the Way (Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 2:17). Having love for all persons will enable them to be used to further God’s purpose(1Corinthians 13:1-3, Matthew 5:43-48).

This world is not the Christian’s home. They are pilgrims whose citizenship is elsewhere. (1 Peter 2:11, Hebrews 11:13)

There will be a new heaven and a new earth where true Christians of all ages will live with God forever (Revelation:1-7).  The others will be destroyed (Revelation 20:15).
