- John was told to write:

Chapter 2
- Message to the church of Ephesus
a. Jesus – “he that holdeth the 7 stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the 7 golden candlesticks”.
b. Thou hast left thy first love – repent, and do the first works.
- Message to the church of Smyrna
a. Jesus – “the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive”
b. Ye shall have tribulation for ten days, but he that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
- Message to the church in Pergamos
a. Jesus – “he which hath the sharp sword with two edges”
b. To him that overcometh … I will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written…
- Message to the church in Thyatira
a. Jesus – “The Son of God, who hath eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass”
b. God searches the reins and hearts and will give to every one according to his works.
Chapter 3
- Message to the church of Sardis
a. Jesus – “he that hath the 7 Spirits of God, and the 7 stars”
b. He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment.
- Message to the church in Philadelphia
a. Jesus – “he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth”.
b. He that overcometh shall be a pillar in the temple of God
- Message to the church at Laodicea
a. Jesus – “the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God”
b. Because thou art neither cold nor hot, but lukewarm, I will spew thee out of my mouth.
c. “Behold, I stand at the door and knock…”
Chapter 4
- A door was opened in heaven; a voice said, “come up hither”
- The throne in heaven and one that sat upon it
- The four and twenty elders
- Seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the 7 Spirits of God
- The four beasts
a. The first was like a lion
b. The second was like a calf
c. The third had a face as a man
d. The fourth was like a flying eagle
e. Each beast had 6 wings and was full of eyes
- The beasts and the elders worship God
Chapter 5
- The book written within and on the backside, sealed with 7 seals
- The Lamb of God
a. Has 7 horns and 7 eyes, which are the 7 Spirits of God
b. Is worthy to open the 7-sealed book3
3. The four beasts and the elders worship the Lamb, and sing a new song
- Thousands of angels around the throne praising God

Every creature was heard praising God
Chapter 6
1st seal
- A white horse, and he that sat upon him had a bow
- A crown was given unto him, and he went forth conquering, and to conquer
2nd seal
- A red horse
- Power was given to him to take peace from the earth
3rd seal
- A black horse
- He that sat upon him had a pair of balances in his hand
- A voice from the midst of the four beasts said, “A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine
4th seal
- A pale horse, and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed
- Power was given over fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth
5th seal
- Under the altar – the souls of them that were slain for the word of God
- They cried with a loud voice to be avenged
- They were given white robes and told to wait for a little season until their fellowservants, who should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled
6th seal
- A great earthquake
- Signs in the sun, moon and stars
- The heaven departed as a scroll
- Every mountain was moved
- People hid themselves in the rock and mountains and said, “For the great day of his wrath is come, and who shall be able to stand?”
Chapter 7
- Four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth
- Another angel ascends from the east, having the seal of the living God
- The 144,000 are sealed – 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes of Israel
- A great multitude stand before the Lamb, clothed with whit robes, and palms in their hands
a. What are these which are arrayed in white robes? And whence came they?
b. These are they which came out of (the) great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
c. They are before the throne of God and serve him day and night
d. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst
e. The Lamb shall feed them and shall lead them unto living fountains of water
f. God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes
Chapter 8
7th seal – silence in heaven for the space of half an hour
- The 7 angels which stood before God were given 7 trumpets
- Another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer
a. He filled it with fire from the altar and cast it to the earth
b. There were voices, and thundering, and lighting, and an earthquake
3. The seven angels prepared themselves to sound
1st trumpet
- Hail and fire mingled with blood were cast upon the earth
- One third of trees and all green grass were burnt up
2nd trumpet
- A great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea
- One third of the sea became blood
- One third of the creatures in the sea died
- One third of the ship were destroyed
3rd trumpet
- A great star fell from heaven, burning as it were a lamp – the name of the star was Wormwood.
- One third of the water became wormwood, and many men died of the waters, because they were bitter
4th trumpet
- One third of the sun, moon and stars were smitten and darkened
- An angel flew through heaven saying, “Woe, woe, woe.”
CHAPTER 9
5th trumpet
- A star falls from heaven, and unto him is given the key to the bottomless pit
- He opens the bottomless pit and locusts come upon the earth
a. Given power to hurt those men who have not the seal of God upon their foreheads and torment them for 5 months
b. The king over them is the angel of the bottomless pit
3. One woe is past – 2 more are yet to come
6th trumpet
- There is a voice from the 4 horns of the golden altar before God
- The 4 angels are loosed from the Euphrates River
a. They were prepared to slay the third part of men
b. Army of horsemen – 200,000,000 – fire, smoke and brimstone come out of their mouths
CHAPTER 10
- Another mighty angel came down from heaven, clothed with a cloud
a. A rainbow was upon his head
b. He had in his hand a little book
2. The seven thunders uttered their voices – John was commanded not to write the things which they said
3. In the days of the voice of the 7th angel, the mystery of God shall be finished
4. John eats the little book
5. John will prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings
CHAPTER 11
- John is given a reed and told to measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein
a. Leave out the court outside the temple, for it is given unto the Gentiles
b. The holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months
2. The two witnesses
a. Shall be given power and shall prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth
b. These are the 2 olive trees, and the 2 candlesticks standings before the God of earth
c. Their power
1. Fire shall come out of their mouths
2. Shall shut heaven, that it rain not
3. Can turn water into blood
4. Will smite the earth with plagues
d. The beast shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them
e. Their bodies shall lie in the streets 3 ½ days
f. After this time, they shall be resurrected and ascend into heaven
g. The same hour there shall be a great earthquake
1. 1/10 of the city will fall
2. 7,000 men shall be slain
7th trumpet
- The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord and his Christ, and he shall reign for ever and ever
- Thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they shall be judged
- The Temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament
CHAPTER 12
- A great wonder in heaven – a woman
a. Clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of 12 stars
b. She is with child, and travails in birth
- Another wonder – a great dragon with 7 head and 10 horns and 7 crowns on his head
a. His tail cast down 1/3 of the stars of heaven
b. He was waiting to devour the child the woman would bring forth
- The woman brought forth a man child
a. He would rule all nations with a rod of iron
b. He was caught up to God and to his throne
- The woman fled into the wilderness, where God had prepared a place for her that they should feed her 1,260 days
- War I heaven
a. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon
b. The great dragon was cat out – the devil – and his angels
c. A loud voice in heaven saying, “Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of the brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.”
- The dragon persecuted the woman which brought fourth the man child and the earth helped her
- Being angry with the woman, the dragon made war with the remnant of her seed which keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ
CHAPTER 13
- A beast rises up out of the sea
a. 7 heads and 10 horns, and upon his horns 10 crowns
b. Upon his heads the name of blasphemy
c. The dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority
- One of the beast’s heads is wounded to death, and the deadly wound is healed
- Power was given to him for 42 months
- He blasphemed God
- Given power to make war with the saints and overcome them
- Another beast – 2 horns like a lamb, speaks like a dragon
a. Caused all the earth to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed
b. Maketh fire come down from heaven and does miracles in the sight of the first beast
c. Made an image of the first beast and gave life unto it
- The mark of the beast
a. All men receive a mark in their right hand or in their forehead
b. No man can buy or sell, save that he has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name
c. The number is 666
CHAPTER 14
- The Lamb in on mount Zion, and 144,000 with him
a. They have his Father’s name on their foreheads
b. These are they which were not defiled with woman; for they are virgins
c. They follow the Lamb withersoever he goeth
d. These are the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb
- Another angel
a. Has the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth
b. Saying, the hour of his judgement is come
- Another angels, saying “Babylon is fallen, is fallen”
- Another angel, saying that any who receive the mark of the beast shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, and shall be tormented with fire and brimstone
- A voice from heaven says, “Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth …”
- The Son of Man upon a white cloud
a. A golden crown on his head, and a sharp sickle in his hand
b. An angel out of the temple tells him to thrust in the sickle and reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe
c. He that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped
- Another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven
a. Having a sharp sickle
b. An angel with power over fire cried to him to thrust in his sickle and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth
c. The angel thrust in his sickle, and gather the vine of the earth, and cast it into great winepress of the wrath of God
CHAPTER 15
- Another sign in heaven – 7 angels having the 7 last plagues
- A multitude standing on the sea of glass mingled with fire
a. These are them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his mark
b. They sing unto God
- The temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened
- The 7 angels come out of the temple, having the 7 plagues
a. Clothed in pure and white linen
b. One of the 4 beasts gave them 7 golden vials full of the wrath of God
- The temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and no man was able to enter into the temple till the 7 plagues of the 7 angels were fulfilled.
CHAPTER 16
A voice out of the temple saying to pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth
1st vial – a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast
2nd vial – the sea became as blood, and every living soul died in the sea
3rd vial – rivers and fountains of water became blood
- True and righteous are the judgements of God
- They have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and God has given them blood to drink
4th vial – power was given to the sun to scorch men with fire; men were scorched with a great heat
5th vial
- Poured out upon the seat of the beast
- His kingdom was full of darkness
- They gnawed their tongues for pain
6th vial
- The water of the great river Euphrates was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared
- Three unclean spirits like frogs
- Came out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophets
- They are the spirits of devils
- They go forth to gather men to the battle of that great day of God almighty – unto a place called Armageddon
7th vial
- A great voice from the temple saying IT IS DONE
- Voices, and thundering, and lightning
- A great earthquake – the great city was divided in 3 parts, and the cities of the nations fell
- Every island filed away, and the mountains were not found
- A great hail fell upon men
- Babylon came in remembrance before God
CHAPTER 17
- The judgement of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters
a. The kings of the earth have committed fornication with her
b. The inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication
- The woman in the wilderness
a. Sitting on a scarlet coloured beast, full of the names of blasphemy, having 7 heads and 10 horns
b. Arrayed in gold and scarlet, adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls
c. A golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication
d. Upon her head was written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH
c. Drunken with the blood of the saints, and martyrs
- The mystery of the beast that carried the woman
a. It was, and is not
b. Shall ascend out of the bottomless pit and go into perdition
c. The 7 heads are 7 mountains, on which the woman sitteth
d. There are 7 kings – 5 are fallen, 1 is, not yet come; and the beast that was, and is not, and yet is, is the 8th
e. The 10 horns are 10 kings which receive power as kings one hour with the beast
1.They shall give their power and strength to the beast
2. They shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them
- The waters where the whore sitteth are peoples, and multitudes, and nations and tongues
- the 10 horns shall hate the woman and make her desolate
- The woman is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth
CHAPTER 18
- An angel comes down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lighted with his glory
- He cried, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and become the habitation of devils….”
- Characteristics of Babylon
a. She hath glorified herself and lived deliciously
b. Her plagues shall come in one day – death, mourning and famine
c. She shall be utterly burned with fire
d. Her fine merchandise and dainty goods are lost
1.The merchants shall weep and mourn
2. The shipmasters and sailors shall wail
3. She had made rich all the ships in the sea by reason of her costliness
e. With violence shall Babylon be thrown down
f. In her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth
CHAPTER 19
- A voice of much people in heaven, praising God, saying he hath avenged the blood of his servants and hath judged the great whore
- The 4 beasts and the elders fall down and worship God
- A voice of a great multitude saying:
a. The Lord God omnipotent reigneth
b. The marriage supper of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready
1.Arrayed in fine linen, clean and white
2. The fine linen is the righteousness of saints
c. Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb
- The heaven opened, and behold a white horse
a. He that sat upon it is called True and Faithful, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war
b. His eyes were as a flame of fire
c. On his head were many crowns
d. Clothed with a vesture dipped in blood
e. His name is called The Word of God
f. Armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean
g. Out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword
h. KINGS OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS
i. He shall rule the nations with a rod of iron
j. He shall tread the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God
- The supper of the great God
a. An angel cried with aloud voice to the fowls of the air
b. The beast and kings of the earth and their armies made war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army
c. The beast was taken, and the false prophet, and both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone
d. The remnant were slain with the sword that proceeded out of the mouth of him that sat on the horse
e. All the fowls were filled with their flesh
CHAPTER 20
- An angel came down from heaven
a. Had the key to the bottomless pit
b. A great chain in his hand
- He laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is called the Devil and Satan
a. Bound him a thousand years
b. Cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him
c. He should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years be fulfilled
d. After that he must be loosed for a little season
- The thousand year reign
a. Thrones, and they that sat upon them
b. The souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast – they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years
c. The rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished
d. This is the first resurrection
1.Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection
2. On such the 2nd death hath no power
3. They shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years
- After the thousand years, Satan shall be loosed
a. Shall go out and deceive the nations
b. Shall gather them together to battle
c. They compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city
d. Fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them
- The devil is cast into the lake of fire and brimstone (where the beast and the false prophet are) and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever
- The Great White Throne Judgment
a. A great white throne, and him that sat on it
b. All the dead, both great and small, stand before God
c. The books were opened, and the book of life was opened
d. The dead were judge out of the things written in these books
e. Death and hell were cast into the lake of fire – this is the second death
f. Whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast in the lake of fire
CHAPTER 21
- A new heaven and new earth
a. The first heaven and the first earth were passed away
b. There was no more sea
- John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven
- A voice out of heaven saying,
a. The tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them
b. God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes
c. There shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, nor pain
d. The former things are passed away – behold, I make all things new
- He that sat upon the throne said:
a. Behold, I make all things new.
b. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end
c. He that overcometh shall inherit all things
d. The fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murders, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake, which burns with fire and brimstones – this is the second death
- The Holy City
a. Having the glory of God
b. A great and high wall with 12 gates
1. At the gates 12 angels
2. Names on the gates of the 12 tribes of the children of Israel
3. 3 gates on the east, 3 on the north, 3 on the south, 3 on the west
c. The walls of the city had 12 foundations – in them the names of the 12 apostles of the Lamb
d. The city is foursquare – 12,000 furlongs long, wide and high
e. The wall is 144 cubits
f. The wall is of jasper and the city is pure gold, like unto clear glass
g. The foundations were garnered in precious stones
jasper, sapphire, chalcedony, emerald, sardonyx, sardius, chrysolite, beryl, topaz, chrysoprasus, jacinth, amethyst.
h. The 12 gates were 12 pearls
i. The streets of the city were pure gold
- There is no temple in the city – for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it
- The Glory of God lights the city
- There shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or make a lie: but they, which are written in the Lamb’s book of life
CHAPTER 22
- A pure river of water of life
a. Clear as crystal
b. Proceeds out of the throne of God and of the Lamb
- The tree of life
a. Bears 12 manner of fruit – yielded her fruit every month
b. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations
- The throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in the city.
- His servants shall see his face, and his name shall be written in their foreheads
- The Lord God giveth them light, and they shall reign forever and ever.
CONCLUSION
- Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book; for the time is at hand.
- Every man shall be given according as his work shall be.
- “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.”
- Blessed are they that do his commandments
a. They may have right to the tree of life
b. They may enter through the gates into the city
- Jesus sent his angel to testify these things (the book of Revelation) to the churches
- Jesus – the root and offspring of David, and the bright and morning star
- The Spirit and the bride say Come.
a. Let him that heareth say Come.
b. Let him that is athirst come.
c. Whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
- If any man shall add unto this book, God shall add unto him plagues which are written in this book
- If any man shall take away from this book of prophecy, God shall take way his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book
- He that testified these things saith, Surely I com quickly. Amen. Even so, come Lord Jesus.
